How to tell if a computer supports dual monitors?

Multitasking is definitely one of the biggest advantages you can enjoy while using a dual monitor setup. The extra screen space really comes in handy while gaming, streaming or in general web browsing as it requires fewer clicks and allows swifter workflow.

The easiest and possibly the quickest way to find out whether your PC can support multiple monitors require the execution of the following steps:

  • Go to Settings, click on system and go to display.
  • Check to see if the multiple displays option is available by scrolling down. If you see the option, then your PC is capable enough to support multiple monitors.

Another way of checking is by either looking up your GPU’s specification on the manufactures website to check if your GPU can support dual monitors or not, otherwise you can check how many display ports are available on your GPU.

Fortunately most, if not all, computers out in the market can support more than one monitor. This is because of the fact that nearly all graphics cards released in the last ten years support dual video output at the very least.

However it is worth mentioning that using multiple displays can affect your computers gaming as well as the overall performance as it depends heavily on your GPU’s capabilities and the type of softwares or games you are running.
