What is a CPU?

The CPU is a computerised equipment that carries out commands from programmes. The CPU will use its billions of transistors to execute its calculations. These computations power the programme that enables a device to carry out its functions. A common misconception is that CPU’s can only be found in laptops or desktop computers, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. CPU’s can be found in every electronic device from smartphones to smart T.V. ‘s, from washing machines to fridges, they are present in any and every device that has to carry out instructions. Threads, cores and clock speed are the factors that determine the performance of a CPU.

Maintaining a CPU

If you wish to keep your CPU in top shape, then the following things need to be ensured:

·         Up To-date Anti-virus/malware

·         Fans should be clean and your device well ventilated

·         Replace your thermal place (if you know how to, no need to experiment if you don’t)

·         Uninstall any unrequired pre-installed apps or softwares
