What is a Pixel?

Pixels are the smallest components that make up images on the screen of your electronic device.

The official definition in the Oxford English Dictionary is:

“Any of the small individual areas on a computer screen, which together form the whole image”

The resolution is the number of pixels found on the screen of the device. The greater the number of pixels in a screen the more sharp or realistic the image would look. For example a 1920 by 1080p (FHD) resolution screen has 1920 pixels vertically and 1080 pixels horizontally, which total up to 2,073,600 pixels on the whole screen.
