Budget laptops are commonly perceived to be unreliable and sub-standard, but the Asus x441BA is truly an exception. It is by no doubt one of the best laptop under 400.It is equipped with the AMD A6-9225 7th Gen processor( up to 3.0GHz) along with a dedicated AMD Radeon R4 Graphics which is perfect for light gaming and a 14 inch HD resolution(1366×768) display screen.
The Asus x441BA has a 4GB DDR4 RAM with 500GB SATA 5400RPM 2.5″ HDD. This model delivers a long 7-8 hours battery life, has built-in Bluetooth V4.0 and built-in stereo 3W speaker. Furthermore it has one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port and one USB 3.1 Type C Port.

Design
The product sizes at 13.7 × 9.6 × 1.1 inches, which is slightly thicker than most laptops you see. This model weighs 3.9 pounds (1.7kg), which is heavy but light enough to carry around. Moreover the products body is mostly made of Plastic, which is perfectly strong and helps in reducing the weight. In addition, the body has a charming and a great classy look to it. The speakers are on top so you can place your laptop on any surface without putting your sound quality to risk. This model has a smooth and responsive mousepad which is very comfortable to use. Although the mosepad doesn’t have buttons so if you want to click you have press on bottom right or left.
Speakers
This laptop has 2 Built-in stereo 3W speakers, which are present at the top of keyboard so it gives you more loud and joyful sound. The speaker’s are just adequate so if you want high quality sound then it is advised to use external speakers or headphones.
Keyboard
The keyboard keys are well spaced. They are confortable to use but they sound when you clicked. This model not have backlit in its laptop so it is difficult to use in darkness but this is common in budget laptop because backlit costs more and also consumes more energy and drains battery faster.
Connectivity
This model offers a variety of ports including a USB 2. 0 Type A Port, one USB 3. 0 Type A Port, one USB 3. 1 Type C Port, one HDMI port and a VGA Port. Furthermore it can wirelessly connect with the internet with the help of WIFI and has Bluetooth V4.0. In addition it has a built-in Microphone and a Multi- format card reader (SD/SDHC). Moreover Asus X441BA has also added the Kensington lock is which is very useful when it comes to securing your electronic device.
Display
If we talk about the 14” display, the resolution (1366×768) it’s an amazing experience while watching video or browsing the web. However, the colors are little bit dull and the contrast isn’t that great. The screen is glossy so you can enjoy the display without hazing or graininess but unfortunately no glare handling is provided so working outside in sunlight is hard and uncomfortable. The Asus X441BA has no issues on the bezels front as they are small and not that annoying. The display lid of this model can be pushed backed approximately 90 degrees. However this model does not offer touchscreen which is common when it comes to budget laptops.
Wish List
There are some drawbacks to the ASUS X441BA, first of all, the fingerprint sensor is not present in it which is not good for the security of laptop. Furthermore it also doesn’t have a touch screen but it is not news that touch screen laptops costs high and it drains your battery more fast. However, it has one benefit, that it has a SD card reader(so u can increased storage as much as you want)and (CD/DVD) drive so you can save your storage and also protect your data in (CD/DVD) drive.
PERFORMANCE
Processor
The processor used in AsusX441BA is a 2.6GHz( which can be boosted up to up to 3.0GHz) dual core ,AMD A6-9225 7th Gen processor. It may not be the best processor but it gets the job done when it comes to daily productivity such as light gaming, socializing, watching movies etc. The processor contains a dedicated AMD Radeon R4 Graphics which is perfect for lighter games like Roblox, farcry3 etc but unfortunately its unable to run heavier games like GTA V, FORTNITE etc. The processor gives excellent performance when it comes to web browsing, watching movies, running office softwares etc. It also contains a great cooling system but the fan is a bit loud(but the noise is bearable), given the price range, something like this can be expected.
RAM
This model has 4GB DDR4 RAM. Unfortunately 4GB is not enough for larger applications but it can be upgradeable upto 16GB(if you access 2 RAMs of 8GB in 2 slots). The 4GB RAM is enough for lighter applications such as MS WORD, Web browsing, Movies etc.
HDD or SSD
The Asus X441BA contains a HDD, which has capacity of 500GB. 500GB is for daily use but if you want more storage it is upgradeable upto 4TB. SSD is faster and makes less noise than a HDD, but they are usually smaller in size and are quite expensive than a HDD. But it’s not a surprise that a manufacturer favors a HDD over SSD when it comes to budget laptops. However if you personally prefer the SSD over an HDD, the internal HDD can be replaced with a SSD in this model.
Battery Life
It has 1 Lithium Polymer 1 A 1 Lithium ion battery. The battery life is around 7-8 Hours and it is the best battery life for travelling laptops but unfortunately it is little bit uncomfortable for travelling because of the weight of laptop which is 3.9 pounds(1.7kg).
Softwares and Features
The Asus X441BA comes with 5GB of cloud storage(offered by Microsoft OneDrive) and 15GB( offered by Google drive). This is very useful for extra space and it also secures your data and ther is one big advantage of cloud storage that you can access your data on any device anywhere with the help of cloud storage. The Microsoft Store is also available where you can find and Download your desired programs such as Adobe Photoshop, odoo’s, Whatsapp, freshbook, Netflix etc.
Buy It If
Buy it if you want a device for day by day use such as light gaming, web browsing , movies watching, light office work or for school/college assignment or you need it to accompany you to your school/collage or work place , then this is the best device to fulfill those needs, as it has a great 7-8 hour battery life and an abundance of storage which can be upgraded up to 4TB).
Don’t Buy It If
Don’t buy it if you need a laptop for heavy gaming like playing PUBG, Ark survival, COD etc, or wish to perform processor intensive work such as intensive picture/video editing or intensive multi-tasking, then it is advised to look at other devices at this price range.
